Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Miteflux Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of Tooletly (the “Service”), handles information in connection with your use of the Service. We are the data controller for the limited processing described below.

1. Overview

Tooletly is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not require an account, and we do not maintain a persistent database of your activity. The large majority of our tools — including the file converters and image, document and most developer tools — run entirely within your web browser. The files and text you process with those tools are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We do, however, display third-party advertising on the Service, which involves cookies and similar technologies as described in the “Advertising and cookies” section below.

2. Information we process

Content you process locally

For browser-based tools, your files and input stay on your device. They are processed in your browser and never reach us.

Input to server-based tools

Some tools — WHOIS/RDAP, DNS, IP lookup, SSL certificate checker, HTTP header checker and redirect tracer — are performed by our servers. When you use one of these, the specific value you submit (such as a domain name, IP address or URL) is sent to our server and forwarded to the relevant authoritative third-party system to obtain a result. We hold these queries only transiently and may keep results in a short-lived in-memory cache to improve performance and respect upstream rate limits. We do not build profiles from them.

Technical data

Like most websites, our servers automatically receive your IP address and basic request metadata (such as the requested URL, timestamp and user-agent) when you interact with server-based features. We process your IP address transiently to operate and secure the Service — in particular to apply rate limits and prevent abuse — and, for the “What’s My IP” tool, to display it back to you at your request. We do not sell this data.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference; this stays on your device and is not sent to us. Separately, our advertising partner sets cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads — see the “Advertising and cookies” section below.

3. Legal bases (UK GDPR)

Where we process limited personal data such as IP addresses, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and maintaining a reliable Service (including preventing abuse), and on performing a task you request (such as a lookup you initiate). Our processing is minimal and short-lived.

4. Advertising and cookies

We display advertising on the Service through Google AdSense, provided by Google. To serve, personalise, frequency-cap and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies, and may process data such as your IP address, approximate location and your interactions with ads — including, in some cases, to show personalised advertising based on your activity over time and across websites.

You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and control ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com. In the UK and EEA, non-essential advertising cookies are used with your consent; you can also manage or block cookies through your browser settings.

5. Third-party services

To provide certain features, the Service interacts with third parties. Depending on the tool you use, this may include:

  • Public DNS resolvers (such as Cloudflare and Google DNS-over-HTTPS) for DNS lookups, queried directly from your browser;
  • IANA, the Regional Internet Registries, and registry/registrar systems (via RDAP and WHOIS) for domain and IP lookups, queried by our servers on your behalf;
  • The host you ask us to inspect (for SSL, HTTP header and redirect tools), which our server contacts to retrieve the requested information;
  • A content delivery network (jsDelivr) from which your browser downloads the media conversion engine; the files you convert are not sent there.

These third parties process the relevant query under their own privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, their practices.

6. Data retention

We do not maintain user accounts or a persistent database of your activity. Lookup inputs and results are held only transiently in memory and are discarded automatically. Standard server logs, if generated, are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Service.

7. International transfers

Because domain, IP and DNS data is held by registries and registries operators around the world, performing a lookup you request may involve sending your query to systems located outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in respect of your personal data. Because we hold very little personal data and do not maintain accounts, in many cases we will have no information about you to act on. You can exercise your rights, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting privacy@tooletly.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the Service. Because most processing happens in your browser and we store very little, the data exposure associated with the Service is minimal by design. No method of transmission or processing is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is a general-audience set of utilities and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
